Two Alfie Scholars Inducted into and Selected to Lead Alpha Sigma Nu Seattle University Chapter of the Jesuit Honor Society
Congratulations to Ernesto Chacón (Political Science ’21) and Adrian Nava (Nursing ’21) on their induction into and selection for leadership roles in Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN), the Jesuit honor society. The two will serve as president and vice president, respectively, for the 2020–2021 school year.
Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society permitted to bear the name “Jesuit.” It recognizes students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service. The society also encourages its members to a lifetime pursuit of intellectual development, deepening Ignatian spirituality, service to others, and commitment to the core principles of Jesuit education.
“It feels great to be able to lead such a prestigious group. Alpha Sigma Nu is deeply rooted in Jesuit values. I want to continue to build upon that legacy as the next Alpha Sigma Nu president. I want the incoming cohort to feel a strong sense of pride and to represent Alpha Sigma Nu as the gold standard for embodying Jesuit education and pedagogy,” Ernesto stated.
Seattle University is one of 27 Jesuit Universities in the United States. The Seattle University Chapter of the Jesuit Honor Society is one of 35 chapters in the U.S. and abroad. Ernesto and Adrian were inducted during a virtual ceremony held in early April.
