Speakers Bureau
Each year, the Alfie Scholars research, write, and present about a social issue on which they hope to lead a change for the common good. In the following ten-minute presentations that are based on the Alfie Scholars’ coursework, the scholars bring their voice, insight, and research to diverse issues such as exploitation of Africans, communication, healthcare, immigration, incarceration, pandemic impact, police, politics, public housing, and social media.
Because the scholars are so engaging and thought provoking, we have launched the Alfie Scholar Speakers Bureau to create a platform for the scholars to share their work, to increase awareness on these timely and pressing issues, and to model civility leadership. The Alfie Scholars come from diverse and underrepresented communities which makes their presentations inspiring for youth and young adults from similar backgrounds.
Format
Individual scholars can be a guest speaker, or several scholars can speak on a panel. The scholars will speak for ten to fifteen minutes and then dialogue with your class or group. Engagements will be for 30 to 60 minutes. Speakers are available after January 1, 2021.
During the pandemic, all speaking engagements will be via Zoom.
