Alfie Scholars Cohort 6 Graduate with Honors

The 11 Alfie Scholars of Cohort 6 graduated this academic year. Like their predecessors, the scholars of Cohort 6 excelled academically. This year’s graduates earned their degrees in a wide variety of disciplines: four in Nursing, two in Computer Science, and five in Business.

Bokyung Kim, a summa cum laude Business Administration, Marketing major, received the Albers Academic Achievement Award - Outstanding Transfer Student.

LIa Matias Matos

Lia Matias Matos, a summa cum laude Business Administration, Management, major with minors in Global Business and Entrepreneurship & Innovation, received the Very Impactful Person Award, SU Housing and Residence Life

Mashaal Shameem

Mashaal Shameem, a cum laude Business Administration, Management major with minors in Global Business and Entrepreneurship & Innovation, received the Koch's Rising Star Award from the Accounting Department and the Very Impactful Person Award, SU Housing and Residence Life

 

Campus Leadership

Five of the Cohort 6 Alfie Scholars served in leadership positions on campus:

Simone Bergeron served as treasurer of the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society.

Bokyung Kim

Bokyung Kim served as the Executive Vice President, American Marketing Association (AMA) Seattle U Chapter; President, Seattle University International Student Association (SUISA); and International Representative, Student Government of Seattle University.

Lia Matias Matos

Lia Matias Matos served as Vice President of Public Relations, SU International Student Association

Elma Sacic served as Treasurer, Seattle University Student Nurses Association (SUSNA)

Mashaal Shameem

Mashaal Shameem served as President of Alpha Sigma Nu and Director of Human Resources, Motmot Coffee

 
 

Ignatian Leaders

Three members of this cohort, Bokyung Kim, Lia Matias and Mashaal Shameem, were named Ignatian Leaders by the university. Ignatian Leaders participate in a leadership formation project, collaborate with the university to offer mentoring to other students, and meet with university leaders to discuss the student experience.
