Alfie Scholar Chelsea Arnold Named President of Alpha Sigma Nu

Chelsea Arnold

Congratulations to Chelsea Arnold (Forensic and Clinical Psychology, ’22) on her induction into and selection as the 2021–2022 president of Alpha Sigma Nu (A∑N), the Jesuit honor society. Chelsea is the second Alfie in two years to be selected as president.

Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society permitted to bear the name “Jesuit.” It recognizes students who distinguish themselves in scholarship, loyalty, and service. The society also encourages its members to a lifetime pursuit of intellectual development, deepening Ignatian spirituality, service to others, and commitment to the core principles of Jesuit education.

“I feel honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading Alpha Sigma Nu. I entered Seattle University one year ago, filled with apprehension and self-doubt about my scholastic abilities and my place within Seattle University as a non-traditional transfer student. I hope that my presidency serves as an example to other students who may also be experiencing similar feelings of apprehension or self-doubt that they can achieve whatever they set their minds to and that they belong and deserve to be at Seattle University. My goal as Alpha Sigma Nu’s president is to reach the students who may not qualify themselves as honor students, but who have all of the potential in the world to shine,” Chelsea stated.

Seattle University is one of 27 Jesuit Universities in the United States. The Seattle University Chapter of the Jesuit honor society is one of 35 chapters in the U.S. and abroad.
